With bigger structure and bigger rails, Loop could be thought of as a successor to a previous work Ensemble. The circular rails surrounding the sculpture symbolizes the circulation of natural resources from iron ore to cars, and then to molten iron again.
Loop is planned to be exhibited indefinitely with the opening of Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang, so the miniature cars are designed to work autonomously and require as little management as possible. Since January 2017 to this day, the miniature cars have been operating unmanned, occasionally starting and stopping to charge themselves punctually.
Loop는 이전 작품 Ensemble의 개념을 확대 발전시킨 작품이다. 더 큰 구조물, 더 큰 레일과 더 큰 미니어처 자동차. 구조물을 원형으로 감싸는 레일은 철광석이 자동차로, 다시 쇳물로 흐르는 자원순환에 대한 의지를 알게 한다.
현대모터스튜디오 고양의 건축 과정에서부터 관여한 상시 설치 작품이다. 그러므로 이전 작품(Ensemble)이 전시기간동안 오퍼레이터의 전원관리 및 소모품 교체를 필요로 했던 것과 달리, Loop는 상시 관리소요가 없는 완전자동화를 목표로 설계 및 제작했다.
각 미니어처 자동차의 배터리수명 관리를 위한 일일 구동시간 조절, 실시간 1인칭 영상 스트리밍 on/off 등 모든 요소가 자동으로 동작한다.
